Methi pulao or methi rice is an easy, healthy and tasty pilaf made with fresh fenugreek leaves, basmati rice, mix vegetables, herbs and spices. Methi pulao is a simple one pot Indian pilaf made with rice, fresh fenugreek leaves, whole spices and herbs. Methi is an Indian word for fenugreek and pulao is a pilaf. This easy dish is delicious, flavor packed and makes for a great healthy and balanced meal.

Methi pulav is one of the most well liked of recent trending foods in the world. It’s easy, it is fast, it tastes yummy. It is enjoyed by millions every day. They are nice and they look wonderful. Methi pulav is something that I’ve loved my whole life.

The ingredients needed to make Methi pulav:
  1. Take 1 cup methi leaves
  2. Make ready 2 cups basmati rice
  3. Prepare 1 onion

  19. Get 1 tbsp lemon concentrated

Typically eaten with raita, coconut chutney, or dal. Preparation of Methi Pulao or Methi Bhaat in Karnataka style which we make at home involves two stages. In the first stage, the Masala powder or Bath powder needs to be prepared. This can be freshly prepared when you are cooking the Methi Pulao or you can make the Masala powder and store for a few days.

Instructions to make Methi pulav:
  1. Soak basmati rice in water for at least 30 minutes. Soak more time for better texture
  2. In a pan take ghee + cumin seeds + bay leaf + cinnamon stick. Sauté for awhile and ginger garlic paste and onions and sauté until it turns golden brown
  3. In a mixer take coconut + coriander leaves + poppy seeds+ cardamom + cloves + green chilli and grind a rough mixture
  4. Now add methi leaves to the pan and sauté for few minutes. Add the mixture from step 2 here and mix well.
  5. Now add half boiled vegetables + green peas salt + cashews + bisibele bath powder + lemon. Once it boils add soaked basmati rice and add equal proportion of water and cook for 20 minutes in medium flame.
  6. Serve it hot with salad

In the first stage, the Masala powder or Bath powder needs to be prepared. This can be freshly prepared when you are cooking the Methi Pulao or you can make the Masala powder and store for a few days. My little boy is growing up to be a foodie with specific likings though with an opinionated palate. Heat the butter and oil in a pressure cooker, add the peppercorns, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom and sauté on a medium flame for ½ a minute. Fenugreek Rice or Methi Pulao is a very simple yet delicious rice dish that can be had all by itself or be served with other dishes.
